There are plenty of untapped resources right under your nose

I came to this amazing event today to learn from someone that is director at Slack because we both use the software as well as also in the tech industry. Plus what the Shop is doing for the community is amazing for putting these together. Thanks so much for that! I hope to continue to be a part of what you guys are doing

Thank you,

I'm here at the Leslie Miley event tonight @TheShop because of my amazing husband, James. He pushes me to explore the city I grew up in and always keep innovating!

The tech scene is essential for the growth of Pittsburgh, and diversity is essential for its healthy growth.

Went to the next act fund event and the social expo event at the shop.

Amazing opportunity to connect with people from all over the community.

Making great connections for the future.

We are here to embrace and enjoy inclusive innovation!

I'm here because Leslie Miley is a legend and has some incredible thoughts on inclusive innovation.

Im hear to listen to Leslie Miley and hear his story.

Can't wait to see everyone at tonight's Social Enterprise Expo at @TheShopPgh! While there is free street parking please take advantage of The Wheel Mill https://www.facebook.com/TheWheelMill/'s generous offer to park in their lot.

Volunteers will be on hand to direct parking and directions (less than 1 min) to the venue (entrance on Dallas).

I have really enjoyed being a part of Steel City Codefest 2017! It has been a great opportunity to get out of my comfort zone a little bit and practice working with new technologies. I specifically got to use D3, a JavaScript library that I've heard a lot about but hadn't ever had a reason to use. D3 has a reputation for being really awesome but really difficult, but I was able to get some great help from Kent, one of the engineers at Maya who has worked with D3 before.

It's been really cool to meet and work with people from the Pittsburgh region who are also into coding and excited about working on interesting projects and who also care about making a positive impact on the community.

The value in having people from diverse backgrounds in technical fields is the different ideas they bring to the table simply because of the way their background has shaped their mind. I also think that when a group of people has too similar of a background, they may be unlikely to challenge each other and come up with creative ideas. If a group has to work a little more actively to understand one another, this will result in a deeper relationship that can bring more interesting ideas to the table.

Sharp dressed moderator at the intern event last night. Good to see some entrepreneurs have a sense of style.

I attended UnstuckPgh for the first time today to find a diverse representation of Pittsburgh's entrepreneurial spirit--and I did! I was excited to share with the group about the March for Science - Pittsburgh ( https://www.facebook.com/events/1897986700431664/). This non-partisan march and celebration of science is near and dear to my heart because I am a doctoral student at Pitt Public Health studying Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. To solve big problems like Alzheimer's, we need a diverse group of scientists. Scientific curiosity knows no bounds! I am thankful for the new friends I made today. I will be back, and I have already encouraged others to attend!

This was an excellent example of the use of involveMINT and I hope to use them with my organization.

So glad I got the opportunity to participate in the EngageMINT - great way to connect to amazing residents interested in getting involved in projects in their communities.

Nice event , great people

The gathering of black owned business leaders and the pittsburgh tech community on Saturday, April 1, 2017, was a phenomenal experience. Here's why, we zoomed out by responding to and offering improvements toward critical social justice issues impacting access to information and technology for black owned businesses. Also, we zoomed in to give and receive expertise about a pressing need for our business.

An amazing event and I am very much looking forward to the next gathering!

Had a great start to the day at UnstuckPgh and it led me to a super productive day! Getting the creative and interactive juices flowing first thing in the week is the most important thing you can do.

Already am looking forward to 7:55am next Monday!

Thank you to Jon Craig for the photos!
